Steven Kishi serves as Managing Director at Hummer Winblad Venture Partners. He also serves as Board Member at AlphaRank. He also serves as an Advisor at StepFunction. He has over 20 years of experience divided between Hummer Winblad and executive roles at Hummer Winblad portfolio companies. Most recently Steve was Vice President of Product Management at Altiscale, Inc, who provides a cloud service focused on big data processing developed by some of the founders of Hadoop. Prior to Altiscale, Steve worked at VMware, where he ran product management for Hybrid Cloud applications, vCloud Director and Lab Manager. Steve joined VMware through the acquisition of Hummer Winblad portfolio company Akimbi Systems where he was VP of product management, services, and support. Prior to Akimbi, Steve was a principal at Hummer Winblad, built marketing and services teams at Hummer Winblad portfolio company Extensity, VP engineering at a technology consulting firm, and a design engineer at McDonnell Douglas. While at Extensity, he built the company's professional services organization in Europe leading Extensity implementations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America. Steve received a BS in aerospace engineering from MIT and an MBA from University of California, Berkeley. At Hummer Winblad, Steve has played a key role in the firm's investments in Jareva (acquired by Veritas), Knowmadic (acquired by Intellicap), Yosemite Technologies (acquired by Barracuda Networks), Five9 (NASDAQ: FIVN), Scalent (acquired by Dell), InMage (acquired by Microsoft), Bridgestream (acquired by Oracle), Sapias, Wavemaker (acquired by VMware), and Akimbi Systems (acquired by VMware). He also serves as Board Member at Stackery.
