Description
Steve Klei serves as Board Member & Chief Financial Officer at ThinkHR. Steve Klei is an angel investor & serves on the Board of Demandbase. He also serves as a Board Member at Tribe Dynamics. Steve joined the team as Kabam's first CFO in late 2011 to build the financial infrastructure, systems, and processes to prepare the company for explosive growth and a potential initial public offering (IPO). He has helped shape Kabam into a profitable company that exceeded $400 million in revenue in 2014, with a $1 billion valuation. As CFO, Steve oversees financial planning, accounting, investor relations, and facilities for the company. Steve has more than 25 years of experience managing in high growth environments. He has established the financial processes, infrastructure, and management information systems for some of the most successful software companies-both private and public. He has raised the capital to fund companies' growth more than a dozen times for multiple hundred million dollars. He has led a successful IPO and the successful acquisition of three different companies, creating more than $1 billion in value for shareholders. At Kabam, Steve has led the building of the finance team and financial models to guide both the short and long term financial roadmap, raised more than $50M of growth capital, established financial dashboards to manage and monitor the key financial metrics, and developed the methodology to plan and forecast in a multi-studio and multi-game environment. Prior to joining Kabam, Steve was CFO at Jigsaw for two years and led the sale to Salesforce.com. Before that, he was consulting CFO at Xactly Corp. where he managed the acquisition of the company's chief competitor in an all-stock transaction between the private companies. From 2004-2007, Steve was CFO at ZANTAZ, where he led the sale for more than $400 million to Autonomy. For the eight years before that, he was CFO of ProBusiness, which he took public and where he managed multiple stock offerings and ultimately led the sale of the company to ADP for more than $500 million. Earlier in his career, Steve was corporate controller of Esprit de Corp. He started his career with Ernst & Young. Steve is a CPA. He received a degree in Accounting from Central Michigan University.
