American Industrial Partners was founded in 1989 and has managed three prior investment funds, which total over $1 billion of equity capital. Currently investing in its fourth fund, which is a $405.5 million committed pool of capital, the firm invests in middle market, North American industrial businesses. AIP targets manufacturing or industrial service companies with business-to business selling relationships, revenues of $100 million to $500 million, and an EBITDA of up to $70 million. Typical investments range from $10-$150 million with additional amounts available from investment partners.
