Sam Zaid is a Co-Founder and serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Getaround. He is an active member of the technology community, and a co-founder of Fresh Founders, a club for young technology entrepreneurs. Prior to Getaround, Sam founded 360pi, a retail price intelligence platform acquired by Market Track, and Apption, an enterprise software consultancy focused on big data and machine learning. Sam also holds a number of patents addressing topics including peer-to-peer file sharing, peer-to-peer carsharing, asset rental, and stream data processing. His goal is to impact one billion people in the next 10 years, by empowering them to share their cars through connected car technology. He is a firm believer that sharing economy companies can have major impacts on the lives of everyday people while also building sustainable, close-knit cities and communities. He is a 2008 Microsoft Code Award winner, an E and Y Entrepreneur of the Year 2009, a Google Scholarship recipient and alumni of the Singularity University Graduate Studies Program in artificial intelligence and robotics. He holds a degree in Engineering Physics with First-Class Distinction from Queen's University.
