Richard Barton serves as Venture Partner at Benchmark Capital. He is a Co-Founder & serves as the Executive Chairman at Zillow. Previously, he served as Board Member at Nextdoor. He has been a member of Zillow board of directors since its inception in December 2004 and served as Chief Executive Officer from inception until September 2010. Barton has served as a venture partner at Benchmark Capital, a venture capital firm, since February 2005. Prior to co-founding our company, Barton founded Expedia as a group within Microsoft Corporation in 1994, which Microsoft spun out as Expedia, Inc. in 1999, and Barton served as Expedia s President, Chief Executive Officer and as a member of its board of directors from 1999 to 2003. Barton also co-founded and has served as Non-Executive Chairman of Glassdoor.com, a salaries and reviews website for companies, since January 2008 and Trover, a mobile discovery network, since March 2010, and serves on the boards of directors of several other privately held companies. Barton has served on the board of directors of Netflix, Inc. since 2002, and Liberty Interactive Corporation since 2016. Barton holds a B.S. in General Engineering: Industrial Economics from Stanford University.
