Max Wu is the founder and general partner of Birch Venture Capital. He has over 30 years of experience in IT industry and venture fund investment. Max was managing partner at InveStar Capital from 2001 to 2007 and co-managed over US$250 million assets. Prior to InveStar capital, he served Acer group over 20 years as head of R&D, marketing, purchasing and customers service department etc. He was the president of Acer America from 1993 to 2000.
Max is the chairman of Goya, Inc., Integrated System Solution Corp. and board director of A-Open (TSE:3046), Wistron NeWeb (TSE:6285), Novatek (TSE:3034). In past years, he was chairman of iaSolution in 2003-2007 and board director of APE (OTC:8261) in 2001-2006, Aplix (Tokyo Stock Exchange:3727) in 2004-2007. Currently he also serves as board director in many private companies which as Apacer, Bluepacket, e-Ray, Goya, G-Tech, Glory Praise, Lionic, GreenRich, Kismart, MicroBase etc.
Besides rich investment and industry experience, Max was active in many high-tech associations. He was awarded Chiao-Tung University “NCTU Impact 50 in 50 Years†remarkable alumni in 2008, Chairman of Chiao-Tung University Alumni Association (CTUAA) of Northern California in 2000-2001, Chairman of AAMA ( Asia American MultiTechnology Association) in 1997 and Board Director of the Monte Jade Science and Technology Association, West Coast in 1996-2000.
