Maury Blackman

Maury Blackman serves as President, Board Member & Chief Executive Officer at Premise. He serves as Advisor at UrbanLeap. He served as President & Chief Executive Officer at Accela. He has been with Accela for over a decade and became CEO in 2007. Since his appointment, he has set the foundation for the company to be a leading cloud player in the $92B government IT sector. To support Accela's growth and strategic initiatives, he raised more than $75MM from private investors, Wells Fargo Capital Finance, and most recently closed a $40MM round of financing from Bregal-Sagemount. Always pushing the bounds to bring technology to the public sector, Maury inspired the Accela team to move first into the Cloud, lead with mobile solutions, and transition from a product company to a platform company. He evangelizes game-changing applications that build trust, and serve as a springboard for getting people deeply engaged within their communities. He maintains an active lifestyle, training for ultra distance endurance races year-round. He is a nine-time Ironman finisher, including the 2008 and 2013 Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. He will compete in his 10th Ironman in 2014. He is an active donor and fundraiser for the Challenged Athletes Foundation with a particular focus on Operation Rebound. Prior to joining Accela, Maury was a sales and marketing professional at Investools, formerly Telescan, Inc., and served as a Field Artillery Officer in the United States Army. He is a graduate of the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
