Description
Mary Anne Citrino is a Senior Managing Director in Blackstone Advisory LP. Since joining Blackstone in 2004,Citrino has advised a broad range of clients in the consumer products industry including Procter & Gamble, Kraft Foods and Nestlé. Notable recent transactions include advising P&G on numerous assignments, including the split-off of Folger's Coffee in a Reverse Morris Trust transaction to Smuckers, the purchase of Ambi-Pur from Sara Lee, the sale of its European tissue/towel business (Bounty, Charmin and Tempo) to SCA, its minority investment in MDVIP and the acquisition of Doctor's Dermatologic Formula. She advised Kraft on its Reverse Morris Trust transaction with Ralcorp of Kraft's Post cereal business, Stiefel on the sale of the company to GSK, Albertson's on the sale of the company, Nestlé on the purchase of Kraft’s frozen pizza business, Coty on its acquisition of philosophy, North Castle on the sale of Avalon Natural Products to Hain Celestial, and the board of Atkins Nutritionals on the sale of the company. Before joining Blackstone in 2004, Citrino was Global Head of Consumer Products Investment Banking Group at Morgan Stanley. Prior to running the Consumer Products group,Citrino was Co-Head of Health Care Services Investment Banking at Morgan Stanley.Citrino spent more than 20 years advising clients at Morgan Stanley. Notable transactions at Morgan Stanley include advising Unilever on its acquisitions of Ben & Jerry's, Slim-Fast and Helene Curtis as well as selling its Diversey Lever business to SC Johnson. She also advised Pfizer on its sale of Schick to Energizer, Hershey Trust on its attempted sale of Hershey to Wrigley, and structured and advised on Heinz's Reverse Morris Trust spin-off assets to Del Monte. In December 2009, the Blackstone consumer advisory team was recognized by the M&A Advisor with the awards for Deal of the Year in the Americas” (P&G’s divestiture of its Folgers coffee business to J.M. Smucker) and “Dealmaker of the Year” (Mary Anne Citrino). Citrino received a BA in Economics from Princeton University, Phi Beta Kappa, and received her MBA from Harvard Business School as a George F. Baker scholar. She is a Director of Dollar Tree Stores, Inc., as well as Health Net, Inc., and serves on the Advisory Council for the Center for Health and Wellbeing at Princeton University.
