Lila Ibrahim is the Chief Business Officer of Coursera since April 2014.
Lila is also a Strategic Advisor at the prominent venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
Lila's achievements have garnered international recognition, including her appointment in 2014 to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce’s National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship (NACIE). Other honors include: Henry Crown Fellow by the Aspen Institute (2011), Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (2007), Women of Vision by the Anita Borg Institute (2010), and Outstanding Electrical and Computer Engineering Alumni by Purdue University (2010).
Lila currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at Gannett Co., Inc.
Lila is also Co-Founder and Executive Chair of Team4Tech, an education technology non-profit.
Before joining KPCB, Lila had a diverse 18-year career with Intel Corp. Most recently, Lila led the startup business of Intel's Emerging Markets Product Group. Based in China, Lila was responsible for the ethnographic research, engineering development and marketing of products focused on global education. Under Lila's leadership, more than 50 countries deployed the education solutions, creating hundreds of local jobs and improving the lives and potential of millions of students. Lila joined Intel in 1990 as a Design Engineer for the Pentium® processor. During her tenure, Lila held a variety of technical, marketing and management positions, including assignments in Japan to enable DVD standards for the PC industry and in the Asia Pacific region to pioneer the global expansion of Intel's premier developer program.
Lila earned her Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, where she continues to guest lecture.
