Larry Kane, a corporate partner in Orrick’s San Francisco office, represents newly formed and emerging companies as well as more established companies in a wide range of transactions. His representative transactions include formation, angel and venture capital financing, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships, lease and licensing transactions, private and public offerings of securities. He also has been active in forming venture capital and related funds.
Kane represents public companies such as Applied Materials and SUMCO and private companies such as Altius Education, Ameritas Education, APE, Aptidata, Brightbytes, Communities with Cause, Conceptua Math, Ekwity, Getone Rewards, Goanimate, Hiku, IGX, iplayerpro, Jasper Ridge, Jisst, Live2media, Locomotive, Logrado, PhiSix, PlayTales, Safe Harbor Foods, Synergis Education, Tractus, Vingd, Watchwith, Weekend Sherpa, and XapIT.
Mr. Kane also has been the coach of the Varsity Wrestling Team of Galileo Academy of Science, a public high school in San Francisco, since 1993. Mr. Kane was recently named to the Galileo Academy's Sports Hall of Fame and the Penfield High School Sports Hall of Fame.
In April 2005 and 2009, Mr. Kane was also appointed (and then reappointed) to a 4-year term to the San Francisco Library Commission by Mayor Gavin Newsom. Mr. Kane also serves on the Board of Directors of Aim High Academy, Greatschools.net, Pivot Learning and the San Francisco School Alliance, and provides pro bono legal services to a number of charitable organizations, including the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, BusinessKind, CodeChix Inc. and the California Historical Society.
