Matter is a five month start-up accelerator and early stage venture capital firm that supports and invests in media entrepreneurs. Target ventures are existing start up teams of 2 to 4 founders that have a built early stage prototype. After a competitive selection process, six teams are chosen to receive $50K in funding and office space in Matter's co-working space near South Park in San Francisco. Matter is financed by an initial $2.5M investment from its founding limited partners, Knight Foundation and KQED, and supported by PRX.
