Katja Gagen

Katja joined TCV in November 2015, bringing over 15 years of experience in marketing and branding strategy, messaging, media relations, executive communications, and brand positioning. She oversees marketing and branding for the firm and marketing support to TCV portfolio companies. Before joining TCV, Katja created the function and led marketing efforts for General Catalyst, an early stage venture capital firm. Previously, Katja worked at Cisco where she ran strategic communications and positioning for the company’s President, Engineering and Sales. Her career spans both early and late stage investing with VP of Marketing roles at DCM, an early stage venture capital firm and Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm. Katja also led the U.S. marketing efforts at 3i, a public international private equity and venture capital firm. Katja earned an M.A. in International Relations, Political Science and Linguistics from Johannes-Gutenberg University in Germany and holds a B.A. in Business Management from the University of Applied Sciences for Economics, Berlin.
