Jesse's more than thirty years of business experience in Asia and China brings critical skills to Tallwood as the Tallwood China Executive. Jesse's focus at Tallwood is to assist the firm and its portfolio companies to develop and implement successful strategies for the China marketplace.
Prior to joining Tallwood, Jesse co-founded Dragonvest Partners - a Shanghai-based early stage venture capital firm investing in Chinese technology companies. Previously he founded Changsha Consulting - a Boston and Shanghai-based business consulting firm assisting American firms with their China market entry plans.
Jesse also served as Vice President at Softbank International Ventures where he led Softbank's expansion into the European and non-Japan markets in the late 1990s. Prior to Softbank Jesse was a senior executive at IBM Microelectronics responsible for the division's marketing strategies. Immediately prior to IBM Jesse served as senior executive at Digital Equipment Corporation in the PC division where he was a founding member of the company's personal computer division.
Jesse has lived and worked in Asia and China for the majority of the last thirty years. Jesse speaks Mandarin Chinese and lives in Shanghai, China. Jesse holds a BA in Chinese History from Hobart College in Geneva, NY and an MBA in International Finance with honors from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Jesse also completed Chinese language training at Harvard University.
