Jerry Williamson joined Flagship Ventures in 2013 and focuses on building and developing leadership teams within the firm’s Venture Capital and VentureLabs portfolio companies. Jerry brings more than 25 years of commercial operating experience in the life science marketplace where he has held executive leadership roles responsible for growth and profitability. He has substantial expertise in identifying, recruiting and motivating successful entrepreneurial teams.
Prior to joining Flagship, Jerry served as Vice President and General Manager for Molecular Devices with responsibility for expanding growth in Emerging Markets. He was formerly President of Global Commercial Operations for Genetix Ltd., a UK-based bioresearch imaging company that was sold to Danaher and merged with Molecular Devices. As President, Jerry ran the North American subsidiary of Biacore, a Swedish biotech instrument supplier, where he was also responsible for post-acquisition integration into GE Healthcare. Jerry was also President of Pyrosequencing Inc., the US subsidiary of a Swedish-led DNA sequencing platform provider. Earlier in his career, Jerry developed his skills in Talent identification and recruitment as a Principal for Korn/Ferry International.
Jerry received a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Vermont and holds an MBA from Boston University.
