In 1993, the private investment activities of the Lamar Hunt family were institutionalized with the creation of Hunt Capital Group, a private equity investment firm providing equity capital for growth companies, industry consolidations, and change of ownership transactions throughout the Southwestern United States. The firm manages three private investment funds, the most recent being Trinity Hunt Partners (see profile), which was formed with Capital Z companies in the Southwest region of the United States. Hunt does not make investments in start-ups or turn-around situations and prefers companies with a minimum EBITDA of $3 million and run-rate revenues of $10 million to $150 million. Although the firm will consider companies in a broad range of industries, Hunt's experience has been in Business and Industrial Services, Value-Added Distribution, Healthcare, Security, Manufacturing, Media, Sports, and Entertainment. The firm's typical equity investments range between $5 million and $25 million per transaction.
