The New Hampshire Retirement System, based in Concord, NH, provides benefits to its eligible members and their beneficiaries upon retirement, disability, death or other termination of employment. The total fund is approximately $5 billion and maintains a 10% target allocation to alternative investments (hedge funds and private equity) and a 10% allocation to real estate. The firm currently has about $31.5 million invested in one fund of hedge funds, $250 million invested in private equity funds, and $165 million invested in real estate.NHRS sources all alternative investment managers directly through NEPC.
