Gary M. Crosby is President and Chief Executive Officer of First Niagara Bank and its parent, First Niagara Financial Group, Inc. He is also a member of the company’s Board of Directors. He had served as First Niagara’s interim President and CEO from March 2013 until December 2013. Prior to this, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative and Operating Officer since July 2009. Mr. Crosby left the private sector in 2004 for full-time community service with the Buffalo City School District, the second largest in New York State, as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer until 2009. In 2008, the District was named one of the top three big-city school districts in the country for financial management after being identified in 2000 as one of the worst. From 1999 to 2003, he was a venture capital partner with Seed Capital Partners. From 1991 to 1999, he was a founding stockholder and Chief Financial and Operating Officer of ClientLogic Corporation, a start-up company that grew from three to 3,000 people before its sale. Prior to this, he held senior financial leadership positions in banking and manufacturing and was a CPA with KPMG Peat Marwick. Mr. Crosby is an active community volunteer. He is currently a board member of the Buffalo Public School Foundation, Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology, Buffalo Niagara Partnership and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York – Upstate New York Regional Advisory Board. He also is trustee emeritus of the YMCA of Buffalo Niagara. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Canisius College.
