Gabriela Sabaté is a tech intra and entrepreneur, passionate about innovation in healthcare, telecom, energy and social impact. I founded Health Semantics to address big healthcare problems through tech, clinical, and community touchpoints. We enable screening, prevention, and treatment of chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, obesity, transforming patient experience and improving outcomes. As Chairman & CEO of Tiaxa, venture-backed global leader in mobile software, services, and microcredits, we restructured the company onto a path of profitability and global expansion. As Executive Director of Softbank Latin America ($150 MM Softbank venture capital fund in 5 countries) & Head of the Miami office, I led investments in mobile and tech, and served on the Board of 5 portfolio companies. Before Softbank, I co-founded an Internet incubator in South Florida and was part of founding team that raised capital for Structured Intelligence, a venture-backed roll-up of tech companies in Latin America. While General Manager and CTO of GBM Corp/IBM Central America, a LBO of 8 IBM operations, pioneered several new lines of business: telecommunications, Internet, and payments. Founded GBnet, later acquired by BT. In IBM Corporation (South Cone Latam) created the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Division and held systems engineering roles, as well as in Hewlett-Packard. 2016 Finalist "Female Leader in Tech" Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, eMerge Americas Advisory Board 2015/6, Senior Ambassador Social Media Week Miami, FIU Senior Panel.
