Edward Tinsley is a Co-Founder and serves as Partner at Southwestern Growth Partners. Tinsley is an angel investor. Prior to joining SWGP, Edward was an M&A attorney with UK-based law firm Linklaters LLP, participating in over $12 billion in equity and debt transactions focused primarily in the energy and private equity sectors. Edward acted on behalf of BP in their 2010 purchase from Devon Energy of oil and gas properties in the Gulf of Mexico, offshore Brazil and Azerbaijan, and on the subsequent divestment of certain assets post-Macondo. Edward also represented small and mid-size oil and gas companies in their acquisition of blocks in East Africa, the North Sea and the Middle East. He also acted for Ecopetrol, the state-owned oil and gas company of Colombia, in their financing of a refinery upgrade in Cartagena, Colombia, as well as on behalf of a client financing and developing an LNG plant on the Gulf Coast of Louisiana. In addition, Edward acted in several private equity acquisitions, on behalf of JC Flowers & Co., Ontario Teachers Pension Plan and the sovereign wealth funds of the People's Republic of China, Singapore and Abu Dhabi. Edward worked in Linklaters' offices in New York, London, Hong Kong and Sao Paulo. Edward received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and is a member of the New York bar. He received his Master of Science in European Politics and Governance from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in both International Relations and Communications from the University of Southern California.
