Edward Suning Tian

Dr. Edward Tian is a Co-Founder at AsiaInfo Technologies. He led the company as CEO between 1993 and 1999 and has remained on the Board of Directors throughout the past two decades. Edward was appointed Executive Chairman in February 2014. While supporting AsiaInfo, Edward has also taken active roles at several other organizations. Between 1999 and 2006, he was the CEO of China Netcom Company Ltd. He was also Vice Chairman at China Netcom Group between 2002 and 2006. In 2005, Edward became Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at PCCW Ltd, and stayed in this role till 2007. In 2006, he founded China Broadband Capital Partners and has been its Chairman ever since. Edward is also an independent director of several multi-national corporations including MasterCard International, Lenovo Group Ltd, and Taiking Life Insurance Company Ltd. Edward holds a Ph.D. in Natural Resource Management from Texas Tech University, USA. He is also a member of the Harvard Business School Asia Advisory Committee, as well as a Board Member of The Nature Conservancy's Asia Pacific council.
