Edward Mathias

Edward Mathias serves as Senior Advisor at The Carlyle Group. He also served as Advisor at Blackstreet Capital Management and Valhalla Partners. He also served as Investment Committee Member at CapGen Financial Group. He was instrumental in the founding of The Carlyle Group and assisted in raising the firm's initial capital. Prior to joining Carlyle in January 1994, Mathias was a member of the Management Committee and Board of Directors of T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., a major investment management organization. Now focused on venture capital activities, Mathias serves as a member of the Investment Committees for Carlyle Venture Partners, Carlyle Europe Venture Partners, and Carlyle Asia Venture Partners. He also served as Advisor at Fairfax Partners and actively provides capital for each of the firm's investment. Mathias holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he serves as a Trustee. He served as Strategic Advisor at Tusk Ventures.
