Formerly known as the Virginia Energy Incubator, the National Institute for the Commercialization of Clean Energy (NICCE) is a clean and renewable energy commercialization company focused on providing specialized business incubation and support services to developing clean energy companies and the incubators that house them. The Center connects local communities with entrepreneurs to create green collar jobs around the country. The Institute's latest incubator partnership is with the Rocky Mountain Innosphere, Fort Collins, Colorado. The National Capital Clean Energy Incubator has been designed to 1) validate technology, 2) match technology to customers, 3) capitalize companies with technology and bring the technology to market through a highly sophisticated proven process. The Center also plays a role in helping companies find suitable site locations for business development, expansion and or manufacturing and we help them negotiate the terms. The incubator's new facility is expected to be 100,000 sq/ft of high tech and high security space and with the right incentives, located in the Washington, DC metropolitan region. The estimated number of jobs this incubator will create is projected at 400. The Clean Energy Alliance, the National Institute for the Commercialization of Clean Energy and U.S. Department Of Energy recently launched a partnership to support commercialization of clean energy technologies. The $1.2 million grant will provide services to small businesses to enhance success through CEA's network of incubators that includes the Clean Energy Business Incubator.
