Dale Kirkland is a Managing Director for Silicon Valley Bank’s (SVB) Atlanta office. He is responsible for business development and strategic relationship management in the Southeast, and focuses on providing financing solutions to early-stage and high-growth technology companies. Kirkland joined SVB in 2003 and has since provided strategic financing to more than 250 companies with $1.5 billion in commitments.
Through his work at SVB and operating experience, he has developed deep knowledge of many verticals within the software and internet industry. He began his career at SunTrust and has held roles in sales leadership and financial management at several telecom companies including MCI, XO Communications, Broadwing Communications, and BroadBand Technologies, where he served as CFO.
Kirkland is on the board of directors for TechBridge, an Atlanta based nonprofit that provides technology support to other nonprofits. He is also an advisory board member at the MIT Enterprise Forum and Venture Atlanta. He served on the Florida Venture Forum board of directors for 5 years. In 2006, Kirkland was recognized as one of Georgia's most influential figures in banking and finance by the Atlanta Business Chronicle on their "Who's Who" list. Kirkland has spoken at a number tech industry events including Venture Atlanta, The Florida Venture Forum, the Technology Executive Roundtable, ACG, and ATDC.
Kirkland earned a B.B.A. in business administration with a concentration in finance and graduated summa cum laude from Georgia State University.
