The Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC) is actively identifying platform level technologies suitable for start-up company formation in order to create institutional value for intellectual property derived from novel inventions made by M. D. Anderson researchers and faculty. Since 1987, OTC has been involved in the creation of eleven affiliated companies that have raised over $300 million on the strength of M. D. Anderson technologies. Four portfolio companies listed on NASDAQ have raised over $230 million and funded $25 million in sponsored research at M. D. Anderson.
