Amitabh Sharma

Amitabh Sharma serves as Consultant at Egon Zehnder. He is based in New Delhi, has a wide range of experience across the technology ecosystem. Amitabh is a key member of Egon Zehnder's global Technology & Communications Practice. Until recently, he led the global Systems, Software and Services segment for the Practice, having earlier led the firm's Asia-Pacific Technology Practice. He advises global as well as Indian clients, including small, mid-size, and large companies across technology products & services. His areas of specialization include the IT-enabled services industry (including BPO and captive operations organizations), digital, financial technology, and mobile. He has also done a lot of work in the CIO function across industries. Prior to Egon Zehnder, Amitabh served in range of business and operations executive roles. He was COO at Active Private Equity, based in London, and an internal consultant at Shell Global Solutions, working from London and The Hague. At Netdecisions, a digital services and strategy startup in London, Amitabh built and launched a number of digital businesses, ran operations for the growing company, and incubated the Digital Hosting Group as Managing Director. Previously, he held operational and business leadership roles at Schlumberger for a decade, living and working in seven countries. Amitabh earned a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, and a Masters in Management as a Sloan Fellow at London Business School.
