The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority

Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) is a sovereign wealth fund based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. ADIA is a public institution established by the Government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in 1976 as an independent investment institution. The firm carries out its investments program independently and without reference by the Government of Abu Dhabi. ADIA funding sources derive from oil, especially from the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). The fund manages a diversified global investment portfolio across more than two dozen asset classes and sub-categories, including quoted equities, fixed income, real estate, private equity, alternatives, and infrastructure. For private equity investments, the firm follows three investing activities including primary fund investing, direct secondary investing, and principal investing. The primary fund investment activity is organized geographically across North America, Europe, and Emerging Markets, investing across all strategies, while secondary, principal investing, credit and distressed, and venture capital activities operate on a global platform. The investment committee reports to the Managing Director and is responsible for managing and overseeing investment-related matters. The Managing Director chairs this committee, assisted by two Deputy Chairmen, with the participation of Executive Directors from all investment groups and some control functions.Abu Dhabi Investment Authority's (ADIA) investment portfolio is valued at $710 billion, with investments in private equity.
