Regents of the University of California (UC Regents) manages an endowment fund which is based in Oakland, California. This is the governing board of the endowment fund of the University of California system. UC Regents manages five separate funds, the UC Retirement Plan, General Endowment Pool, Short Term Investment Pool, Total Return Investment Pool, and the UC Retirement Savings Program. The assets of the endowment fund are managed by the board of regents. The board is further assisted by the investment committee to manage the investment assets.Regents of the University of California Endowment's investment portfolio is valued at over $13 billion, with investments in domestic and international equity, private equity, real estate, and cash. Each fund that the Regents manage has separate investment policies and asset allocations. The endowment's returns for year 1, 3, 5 & 10 were 0.6%, 5.4%, 5.1% and 7.3% compared to the benchmark of -5.2%, 2.9%, 3.4% and 5.4%.
