Global Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Fund (GEEREF) is a fund of funds based in Luxembourg, Luxembourg. Established in 2008, the firm invests in private equity funds focusing on renewable energy including small hydro, solar, wind, biomass and geothermal and energy efficiency projects including waste heat recovery, energy management in buildings, co-generation of heat and power, energy storage and smart grids in emerging markets. GEEREF provides finance to small and medium-sized clean energy projects in developing countries. The firm invests across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. GEEREF's funds concentrate on infrastructure projects that generate clean power. European Investment Bank Group (EIB) serves as a fund advisor.
