Established in 1983, the Akron Global Business Accelerator is a small business incubator created through a cooperative partnership between the City of Akron, The Akron Development Corporation, The University of Akron, and the State of Ohio. The Accelerator offers 200,000 sq. ft. of improved office, manufacturing, assembly, wet labs, and conferencing facilities in a secured building with 24 hour, 7-day-a-week accessibility. All offices, labs and suites are available ranging in size from 500 to 10,000 sq. ft. Two 10,000 lb. capacity freight elevators and one passenger elevator service all areas of the facility. The Accelerator accepts tenants from a wide array of sectors including: Biomedicine, Advanced Materials (Nanotechnology), Alternative Energy Sources, Information Technology, and Instruments-Controls Technology.
