Mel Tang

Mel joined Demand Media (NYSE: DMD) in 2006 as SVP, Finance & Treasure and was named CFO in 2012. Prior to Demand Media, Mel was in the Media Investment Banking group of UBS Investment Bank in Los Angeles, where he advised corporations and investor groups on a wide range of financial and strategic alternatives ranging from M&A to debt and equity financings. Prior to UBS, Mel was at Prime Ventures, a Santa Monica-based venture capital firm, where he analyzed and recommended investments in early stage companies. Before joining Prime Ventures, he was in the Investment Banking group of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities in Los Angeles. Mel graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Wharton School of Business and the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania. Mel holds a B.S. in Economics, Finance and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics.
