Lars Tønnesen

Mr. Tønnesen is co-founder and partner of Agio Partners A/S and has been involved in active ownership of more than 90 companies and more than 50 investments and exits with a focus on value creation and exit timing. Mr. Tønnesen has broad operational experience through serving in key management and board level positions, and has both M&A and IPO experience as corporate finance professional. Prior to founding Agio Partners A/S, Mr. Tønnesen was managing partner in Maj Invest Equity and worked in LD/LD Equity from 2004 to 2010. Mr. Tønnesen joined LD from the biotech industry, where he was CFO of Santaris Pharma and former CEO of biotech company Pantheco, which merged with Santaris Pharma in 2004. Before that, Mr. Tønnesen was Associate Director in Corporate Finance at Nordea, Internal Consultant for the privatization and IPO of Giro Bank, and Section Head at the Danish Bankers’ Association. Mr. Tønnesen’s board of directors experience includes serving a member or observer on the boards of Avis-Tryk, Bella Center, Bisca, Contrast, Desmi, DSV Miljø, Jørck&Larsen, Kelsen, Pantheco/Santaris Pharma, Plus Pack, Reson, Ålborg Industries, and Vernal/Tytex, as well as the Investment Committees for LD Equity 1, 2 and 3. Mr. Tønnesen holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Copenhagen, received management education from Nordea and completed Private Equity, Advanced Level training from the European Venture Capital Association.
