Jean-Paul Chifflet has been the Chief Executive Officer of Crédit Agricole S.A., the Chairman of LCL and the Chairman of Crédit Agricole CIB since March 1, 2010.
Jean-Paul Chifflet joined Crédit Agricole du Sud-est in 1973 as the head of sales promotion. In 1980, he became the General Secretary of Crédit Agricole de la Drôme and then in 1986 the General Secretary of Crédit Agricole du Sud-est.
In 1990, he was appointed the Director of Development and Loans at Crédit Agricole du Sud-est. In 1992, he joined Crédit Agricole Ain – Saône & Loire as Senior General Manager and then in 1995 took over the same position at Crédit Agricole Centre-est.
In 1997, he became the head of relations with the Regional Banks at Caisse Nationale de Crédit Agricole and then in 2000 the Chief Executive Officer of Crédit Agricole Centre-est.
From 2006 to January 2010, Jean-Paul Chifflet was the General Secretary of FNCA, the Vice Chairman of SAS Rue La Boétie, and a member of the boards of directors of Calyon, LCL and Siparex Associés (a Venture Capital company).
In addition, he has been a member of the Economic and Social Council in Paris since 2007 and a member of the Co-federal Council and of the Executive of the Confédération Nationale de la Mutualité, de la Coopération et du Crédit Agricole (CNMCCA).
Jean-Paul Chifflet, born in 1949 in Tournon-sur-Rhône (Ardèche), has two children.
He is a graduate of Institut des Hautes Finances de Paris (IHFI), a Chevalier of the Ordre National du Mérite and an Officer of the Ordre du Mérite Agricole.
