Railway Pension Investments Ltd (Railpen) is authorized by the FSA as an investment management firm and Occupational Pension Scheme (OPS) member, whose sole client is the Railway Pension Trustee Company Ltd (RPTCL). Railpen Investments handles all of the investment decisions for the Railway Pension Trustee Company. The pension has about GBP 18 billion ($30 billion) in assets under management. The firm dedicates about 10% each to property, private equity, and funds of hedge funds.
