Helen Montag is Senior Director, Business Development & Corporate Partnerships at Johns Hopkins University. She has been at Hopkins since 1999. Her team oversees large corporate collaborations. They are also deeply involved in efforts to provide sponsored research and licensing opportunities for individual faculty. The team has been involved in numerous deals, including life science deals such as Medimmune and Bayer, imaging agreements with Toshiba, health care IT deals with Microsoft, and an agreement with an Israeli Health IT Accelerator called Luminox.
Helen also has been involved in developing the East Baltimore Hopkins life science park and in recent efforts to develop the Fast Forward Innovation Hub (incubator). She helped develop the Johns Hopkins Alliance for Science and Technology Development program as well as other programs which train faculty in entrepreneurship. Helen received her undergraduate degree from Harvard College, attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine, received a Master of Public Health degree at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and completed doctoral work there as well.
