The Youngtown Business Incubator (YBI) is a 501 (c) 3 charitable, non-profit corporation, funded in part by the State of Ohio through the Edison Incubator Program, as well as through the JumpStart Entrepreneurial Network. Its primary mission is to accelerate the startup and growth rates of scalable technology-based businesses in the greater Mahoning Valley. Although YBI will work with firms possessing a broad range of proprietary technologies, its current focus is on developing B2B software application companies. Fully furnished office space is provided to tenant companies from 110 square feet to 825 square feet, as well as a software testing laboratory. The Center's 32 portfolio companies operate out of a Youngstown Business Incubator owned four building campus in downtown Youngstown, Ohio. The campus is also home to a federally funded research and development center, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute.
