Innovation Depot is a business incubation facility and program that focuses on the development of emerging biotechnology/life science, information technology and service businesses. The incubator operates in partnership with the University of Alabama at Birmingham. A public-private economic development effort, Innovation Depot is funded by the Birmingham regional business community, UAB, the City of Birmingham, Jefferson County, and the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham and other leading private foundations The 140,000-square-foot facility houses 60-65 tenants and offers flexible floor plans and shared conference rooms. Companies that reach 'Resident Mentor' status have reached a mature stage of growth and can provide additional guidance and support in a variety of ways to other companies at Innovation Depot.
