Founded in 2011, RCP Advisors, LLC, a federally registered investment adviser, is a private equity investment management firm that provides access to lower middle market private equity fund managers through funds-of-funds and through direct co-investments. RCP generally works with buyout fund managers with funds of between $100 million and $1 billion in committed capital. These fund managers then seek to invest in lower middle sized companies - typically, with $25 million to $250 million in enterprise value. RCP seeks to commit capital to approximately 10 to 15 high quality underlying funds. These funds in turn invest in the acquisition of existing businesses located principally in North America. RCP aims to diversify underlying investments across industry focus, fund size, geography, strategy, and manager experience. RCP's primary funds-of-funds account for the majority of its over $2.5 billion in capital under discretionary management. RCP Advisors is also an active secondary purchaser of limited partner interests in private equity funds. Additionally, as a leading fund investor in the lower middle market buyout arena, RCP Advisors frequently has the opportunity to make direct co-investments in transactions sponsored by top tier equity sponsors.
