The Equitium Group was founded in 2006 by former consultants of McKinsey & Company. Equitium acquires small- to medium-size underperforming companies and drives significant performance improvements through its 'Active Ownership' approach. In contrast to traditional private equity firms, Equitium provides truly hands-on strategic and operational support to strengthen and improve the companies in which it invests. The Equitium Group seeks to take a majority equity stake in small-to medium-size companies that are underperforming versus their peers or their industry. Equitium invests in luxury lifestyle companies with particular focus on the following industries: Personal Care, Cosmetics, Fashion and Fashion Accessories, Food & Beverage, Media & Entertainment, and Transportation and Hospitality. The firm invests in small- to medium-size stand-alone companies or corporate spin-offs, with revenues between $10 million and $50 million, headquartered in the U.S.
